The Toronto Raptors beat the LA Clippers 125-118 on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at Intuit Dome, and the fourth quarter decided it. The Clippers led 91-78 after three quarters and led for 94% of the game, then lost the fourth 47-27. Toronto went 19 of 26 at the free-throw line in the period, Scottie Barnes finished with 22 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists, and Darius Garland committed 4 of his 7 turnovers in the final 12 minutes. The Clippers fall to 1-6; Toronto moves to 4-3.
How did the Clippers lose to the Raptors?
Free throws and the paint. Toronto shot 48 free throws to the Clippers' 27 and made 31, a 10-point edge at the line in a 7-point game. The Clippers were called for 34 fouls to Toronto's 26. The Raptors also won points in the paint 62-54 and points off turnovers 21-15. The Clippers won the three-point battle (13 of 35 to Toronto's 8 of 29, a 15-point edge from deep), but that cushion disappeared once the fourth quarter turned into a free-throw contest.
Game flow: Clippers vs Raptors by quarter
First quarter (LAC 33-22). The Clippers set the tone with a 33-point quarter and built the early double-digit cushion they would protect for most of the night.
Second quarter (30-30, LAC 63-52 at half). An even quarter kept the lead at 11.
Third quarter (LAC 28-26, LAC 91-78 after three). LAC still controlled the game heading into the fourth, with a largest lead of 16 on the night.
Fourth quarter (TOR 47-27). The collapse came in two waves. Toronto opened with a 6-0 burst to make it 97-89 by 9:13, with Barnes grabbing three offensive boards early in the period. The Clippers answered and still led 108-101 after Kris Dunn's 26-foot three off an Isaiah Jackson offensive rebound at 4:28. From there, Toronto outscored LAC 24-10. Barnes threw down two dunks, RJ Barrett tied it 109-109 at 2:44, and Barnes' turnaround jumper at 2:08 gave Toronto its first lead of the night, 111-109. Max Strus and Kobe Sanders hit late threes to make it 118-115 and 121-118, but Immanuel Quickley and Barnes closed it at the line. Toronto shot 13 of 21 from the field in the fourth; the Clippers shot 7 of 23.
Team analysis: shooting, rebounding, turnovers
Shooting. Toronto shot 52% (43 of 83) to the Clippers' 46% (42 of 91). LAC's 37% from three (13 of 35) was the better outside number, but the Clippers took eight more shots and still lost the scoring margin because Toronto lived at the rim and the line.
Rebounding. Toronto won the glass 41-38 and the offensive boards 13-10. Barnes alone had five offensive rebounds, and the early fourth-quarter putbacks are what started the run.
Turnovers. Our Keys to the Match asked for fewer than 16 turnovers, and LAC finished at exactly 15 team turnovers. The total held, but the timing did not: Garland had four in the fourth (an out-of-bounds pass, an offensive foul, a travel and stepping out of bounds), and Toronto scored 21 points off LAC giveaways for the game.
Player breakdowns
Scottie Barnes (TOR): 22 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists. Key No. 2 was to wall off Barnes and the paint. It did not happen. Barnes went 8 of 15 at the line, grabbed 5 offensive boards and scored the go-ahead basket.
Immanuel Quickley (TOR): 27 points on 8 of 13, 10 of 11 FT. Quickley led all scorers and iced the game with free throws in the final 43 seconds. RJ Barrett added 26 on 10 of 19.
Kobe Sanders (LAC): 26 points on 8 of 17, 5 of 11 from three. Sanders led the Clippers in 38 minutes and kept them alive late with a 26-foot three at 37.4 seconds.
Darius Garland (LAC): 16 points, 8 assists, 7 turnovers. Garland ran the offense well for three quarters, but his seven giveaways and a -16 were the hardest numbers on the box. Isaiah Jackson was efficient off the bench with 19 points on 9 of 11 and 8 rebounds.
How did the CNI prediction hold up?
Our pick was Raptors 115, Clippers 109, with a flip to the Clippers if Barnes was limited and LAC stayed under 16 turnovers. The winner and the 6-to-7-point margin were right. LAC did stay under 16 turnovers, but Barnes was not limited, so the flip condition never triggered.
What's next for the Clippers?
The Clippers (1-6) host the Miami Heat on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. PT at Intuit Dome. The takeaway to carry in: LAC can build leads, but it has to close possessions without fouling. Forty-eight Toronto free throws is the number to fix.
